How to Draw a Portrait, Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson

Here’s a tutorial on how to draw Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury in Marvel’s “The Avengers.”
Start out with some basic guidelines if you need them.
Sketch out the face lightly using either an F or HB pencil. Erase any unnecessary guidelines.
Start lightly developing the features. I relied on an F pencil for this. I started with the eye and eye-patch.
Develop the ears, nose, and mouth.
Roughly shade in the drawing. You can do this with an HB pencil and a blending stump or cloth.
rase the highlights from his head. They are mainly on the right side.
Shade in the background. I used a 4B and B pencil for this.
Start adding final shading starting with the eye and eyepatch. I relied on a 3H and HB pencil for his skin. I used B and F pencils for the dark shading.
Shade in his ears and forehead.
Shade in his nose and cheeks.
Shade in his mouth and facial hair.
Finish up the drawing by shading in his clothing. Go back and clean up your shading and lines as well.
